A summary: Dubai (part 1)
After going through a mentally challenging week in late Jan I decided to treat myself and booked a last minute flight to Dubai. I was meant to spend 7 days there but on day 2 my dearest friend Maianh convinced me to extend my stay to 16 days, haha. Because there a lot of pictures I thought I'd keep the text short and sweet. I have also planned on doing a Dubai-guide which will be up soon.
I was very lucky and got 3 seats to myself on my fave plane A380 (emirates). I landed in the early morning, had a long nap with my best friend next to me and later did what most people would in my position - go to the pool!
The view from her living room ain't too bad.
During my two weeks there I was very active (gym in the building) and tagged along to a Black gym class at Bare. Gruelling workout but very very good!
We finished it off with a lovely protein smoothie made with almond milk, spinach, almond butter, vanilla and banana. nom nom
The next day we went on a road trip to Abu Dhabi to visit the Louvre and the Sheikh Zayed Mosque.
The Louvre has to be one of the most architecturally beautiful buildings in the world.
The museum itself was very interesting but also extremely big and quite cold (hello AC).
We then drove past KFC (not pictured) and visited Sheikh Zayed Mosque
I'm pretty sure the pictures speak for themselves
In the evening we somehow managed to muster up the energy to go out! We popped by Soho Garden first which is a relatively new place in Dubai that will soon open up a big pool too.
And after a few drinks there we went to Base where Juicy J performed
The next day, after a lot of chilling around, we had dinner at Ting Iriewhich is Dubai's first Jamaican restaurant.
The food was absolutely insane and I BEG OF THEM to open in London
We then went out AGAIN (I know!) and this time to White where DJ Charlesy was playing.
And stayed until closing..
One of the many perks of working for Emirates (which is what Maianh does) is that she gets deals everywhere we go. On Sunday we booked ourselves a lovely pampers package at Saray Spa including afternoon tea
We both had an amazing full body massage and then got to enjoy this..
The next day I did some work and relaxed at home before going out to meet one of my bf's old colleagues who happened to be in town. We enjoyed drinks at The One and Only and then met up with other friends at the Observatory.
Part 2 coming soon. Stay tuned <3
