36 hours in Stockholm

Last weekend I spent about 36 hours in Stockholm with my best friend Mikaela and here's what we got up to!
My flight to Stockholm was obviously delayed, just my luck, so I entertained myself by watching movies.

As soon as I landed and got to Stockholm we met up and walked to Ibis Styles in Odenplan (central Stockholm) and checked in.
Extremely happy that we decided to book a hotel to stay at that was so central!

Our room was on the lower ground floor with a window facing a wall (we knew this and frankly didn't care), and we were pleasantly surprised by the large bathroom and beds.
We dumped our bags and headed straight back out to buy a very late fancy dinner.

Delicious.
We ended up chatting away until 1.30 in the morning and eventually slept.
The next morning we had breakfast (great breakfast spread including pancakes!!), checked out, walked into the city and shopped until we nearly dropped.

And then it was time for the big event.. Sweden v England in the World Cup.
We walked to TAK, a relatively new rooftop bar/restaurant that I've heard a lot about and that a friend said would stream the game on a large screen. We managed to get a couple of really good seats, bought wine and just relaxed until two old school friends joined us.

We watched the game which was obviously quite disappointing for us, but I had a great time either way! It was also super lovely to see Tuzz and Amanda :)

The view from Tak was stunning and I would definitely recommend going there if you're ever in Stockholm.
After the game and a few drinks we were absolutely starving and went to Bistroteket.

Me and G actually walked by this restaurant during our Christmas holiday and loved the interior - so I was happily surprised that Mikaela had booked a table here.

My dish was absolutely delicious and I'd definitely go back. Perfect place for a date/romantic dinner but also with friends.
After dinner we debated whether to go to a bar or home and we decided for the latter. I had to "wake up" at 2.30 in the morning to start my travels back to Stockholm and wanted to rest a little bit.

We spent an hour or so talking at Mikaela's apartment before I attempted to sleep. I somehow woke up before my alarm, hopped in an uber and got to the bus station at 3.30 (pictured) as the sun started to show again.
36 hours completed!
